Plasma Spraying is a Thermal Spraying Process that uses an arc as a heat source that ionizes an inert gas to melt a coating material which is finally propelled onto the substrate. A major advantage of spraying the material via Plasma Spray Method is its ability to generate higher heats to melt ceramics as well as the ability to control how long the material dwells in the flame, ultimately allowing precise control over the final result.

The Wire Arc Spray Coating method is a Thermal Spray process in which two conductive wires are melted as they are acted upon by an arc. The arc produces such a temperature that it transforms the wires into a molten state. The resulting material is then atomized into small particles and ultimately propelled onto the desired substrate by ultra-clean, compressed air.

Major advantages of Wire Arc Spray coating method include lower operating costs, higher material output per hour, and production of a more coarse coating than the Plasma or HVOF methods. Wire Arc coatings are exceptionally suited for dimensional restoration of both mis-machined and worn parts. With a history of proven and cost-efficient corrosion protection we are capable of saving clients time and money; when such events occur.

HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) Thermal Spray Coatings are produced by first mixing a fuel gas and oxygen within a chamber. The resulting mixture exits the chamber through the nozzle and ignites. The powder feedstock is then fed via carrier gas, axially, into the ignited gases and is propelled uniformly to the substrate.

Using both kinetic and thermal energy, the molten particles impact the substrate producing a coating with characteristics unachievable with the Plasma Spray Coating Method. The HVOF process creates extremely dense coatings with bond strengths in excess of 10,000 PSI. A distinct advantage of the HVOF process includes the ability to produce very low surface roughness. This frequently results in easier and faster finishing- many times eliminating it completely. Further, HVOF coatings produce a very accurate and homogeneous chemistry.
