Of the most common challenges in mechanical systems is wear and erosion at contact points between internal components or with the external environment. Surface wear and erosion can drastically affect the form, fit and function of mechanical system components. This may lead to degradation of the worn component, as well as the surrounding components within the overall system.

Product lifespans require careful design management and apply constraints in both manufacturing and service. Our WESCOAT® coatings are designed, tested, and proven to dramatically increase the service lifetime of system components by as much as 20x when compared to alternative solutions such as hard chrome plating.

These coatings increase the lifespan of the customers parts by acting as a barrier between the part and the environmental challenge it is facing. WESCOAT® coatings protect parts from Wear and Erosion where they would otherwise need to be replaced often costing the customer more money and production down time.
